WHEELCHAIR PICKLEBALL FEDERATION OF INDIA (R)

 The Wheelchair Pickleball Federation of India (WPFI) is the National Governing Body for Wheelchair Pickleball in India. Registered in accordance with the Sports Code of India, WPFI is committed to promoting, developing, and governing wheelchair pickleball across the country through structured competitions, player development, coaching, officiating, and grassroots programs. WPFI is affiliated to the Para Pickleball Federation of India (PPFI) and the International Para Pickleball Association (IPPA), working to provide Indian wheelchair athletes with opportunities to compete at the national and international levels while fostering excellence, inclusion, and equal opportunities in sport.

Any person with a disability who meets the IPPA eligibility and classification criteria can participate. Players must complete the required classification process and register as Life Member with WPFI-PPFI before competing in sanctioned State, National or International events. 


 You can register by completing the WPFI Player Registration Form, submitting the required disability and identity documents, and obtaining your official player classification. Registered players become eligible for rankings, championships, coaching programs, and national team selection. Fee Rs.2000 per person.


 Registered players receive:

  • Eligibility to participate in WPFI-PPFI-IPPA sanctioned tournaments. 
  • Official player classification and National Ranking. 
  • Opportunities for selection to represent India at International competitions. 
  • Access to coaching, technical development, and certification programs. 
  • Greater credibility for sponsorship and sports development opportunities.


 The Wheelchair Pickleball Federation of India (WPFI) functions under the guidance and affiliation of the Para Pickleball Federation of India (PPFI) & its Parent Body International Para Pickleball Association. WPFI is responsible for the development, promotion, and administration of Wheelchair Pickleball across India, while PPFI serves as the National Governing Body for Para Pickleball, overseeing all Whelchair Para Pickleball, Standing Para Pickleball, Dwarf Para Pickleball, Intellectual Disabilities Para Pickleball and Cerebral Palsy Para Pickleball, establishing national policies, sanctioning championships, maintaining player rankings and classifications, and selecting Indian teams for international competitions. 


The World Ranking System for Para Pickleball, including Wheelchair Pickleball, was designed and structured by Raghu Kumar Raghavelu, Founder of the International Para Pickleball Association (IPPA), as a core component of the official IPPA Book of Rules.


Raghu Kumar Raghavelu is recognized as the Father of Para Pickleball Classification for creating the global framework and structured classification systems used to organize fair competition for adaptive athletes worldwide.
